There are many reasons to be joyful about finally entering March 2017. Snowdrops and daffodils are now gracing our London parks with their cheerful presence. Days are slowly but surely getting longer and we can finally come out of hibernation. On top of that – as you may have guessed from the title – my second book Renovate Innovate: Reclaimed and Upcycled Homes, has finally hit the shelves…! And this time, it’s a big one…

As with Upcyclist: Reclaimed and Remade, Furniture, Lighting and Interiors, Renovate Innovate is a visual feast for lovers of homes and interiors. This new exploration in the art of reclaim however, scales up from furniture and lighting, to entire rooms, apartments and houses.

The book is separated into three sections: Reclaimed, Revived and Reimagined. Each explores how beautiful and timeless homes can emerge from doing something unpredictable with materials and buildings that others might consider unrecoverable or redundant.

From Melbourne to Madrid, you can expect to see some of the most unique dwellings from around the world. All tell a story about the creative potential in being resourceful with existing materials, objects and spaces that are immediately on hand.

Projects featured include The Love Art Studio, an artist’s fascinating live/work space in Thailand built from driftwood, a Slovenian barn turned holiday home and the studio and living space of famed architect Ricardo Bofill, made from a converted cement factory.

Thanks to the awesomeness of Ali Gitlow, Paul Sloman and Prestel Publishing, along with contributions from some of the most talented designers, architects and photographers around the world, I think we managed to create something really special.

Renovate Innovate: Reclaimed and Upcycled Homes is now released in the UK, due for in the US on the 3rd April 2017. There is also a German edition Upcycled Homes: Einzigartig, Innovativ & Nachhaltig Wohnen (DVA Publishing) released on 25th April 2017.
