Upcycled interior at Derrière Paris

Having returned from holidays in France, the first thing I am keen to share is a Parisian restaurant introduced to me by a friend.  The name Derrière derives from its location, situated at the back of their sister bar and restaurant Andy Wahloo and 404.

It not only boasts great food but an interior resembling a trendy apartment, resulting in a casual and intimate dining experience.

Upstairs you’ll find the pièce de résistance, a smoking room offering a random selection of artwork, vintage pieces, taxidermy, mismatched furniture, wonky shelving and clusters of entwined chandeliers that looks like they’ve been smashed after a night of debauchery.

I particularly liked the use of an old bath re-purposed as a sink in the ladies.  Find Derrière at 69 rue des Gravilliers, 75003 Paris.
