In the East Wing of Somerset House the Estethica exhibition saw its twelfth season at London Fashion Week this month, once again showing its dedication to sustainable fashion with a fine selection of ethical designers. Notable upcyclers included Victim Fashion Street. Taiwan-born Mei Hui Liu is the self-taught designer behind the label who began selling her clothes at London markets from the early 1990s. She describes her work as “decadent romance cut with a very sharp edge and a dose of haphazard embellishments.” She is best known for her recycled vintage dresses which fuses Victorian lace and antique haberdashery with an aesthetic inspired by the debauched night life of the 1980s.
