In a more recent project, Janson once again fuses together waste and beauty, with a proposal for aesthetically appealing recycling stations. Could these golden egg shaped bins be a vision of the future? For his Hidden Treasure project, he says:
“It must be a constant connection between city life and recycling. By viewing recycling as something we are proud of, not hiding it behind supermarkets or gas stations, the project looks for a change in attitude regarding recycling. Recycling should be considered as the gold of Copenhagen – always close by and a natural part of everyday life.”
The theory behind the design is that because the bins are so eye catching, we are encouraged to recycle more. The project was awarded an Honorable mention in a competition held by the municipality of Copenhagen and the Association Green Current.
