Many thanks to Decode for organising a fantastic media tour of the Shoreditch Design Triangle which forms part of this month’s London Design Festival. Most inspiring was the studio of Rupert Blanchard who salvages timber and other materials from wherever he can to create one of a kind furniture. The studio was not only full to the brim with old drawers, doors and stair banisters, it housed several items that had been found in the linings of the drawers, notably a macabre box of gold teeth from a previous owner. You can see more at Styling and Salvage. Rupert’s work is also available to buy at Elemental.
