Rubbish creates glass beach at Fort Bragg California

By Antonia Edwards

Due to residents using part of the beach as a dumping ground, Fort Bragg, California was once a blot on the landscape in the early part of the last century.  The North Coast Water Quality Board started cleaning it up in 1967 and over the next few decades, rolling waves transformed the remaining fragments of glass into a beautiful beach of glittering glass beads.
