Thursday night had me venturing north of the river to attend the launch of Antiform‘s AW11 collection at Here Today Here Tomorrow. I met a lovely bunch of people and had the chance to get up close and personal with a fantastic range of upcycled clothing. Antiform was established by Lizzie Harrison in 2007. What distinguishes them from other sustainable fashion brands is the fact that all their clothes are made from unwanted fabric within a 20 mile radius of their studio in Leeds. This makes maximum use of the untapped local resources in a region that has an established history in the textiles industry. Their aim is to inspire a change in their customer along with their partner company ReMade in Leeds which organises clothes swaps and restoration services, as well as workshops in how to upcycle. A great brand with a great message and genuinely great clothes too!
